Dixie World Series

We left for Dothan, Alabama early Saturday morning to see my brother, Quentin, play in the Dixie World Series. Grace was SO excited to see her "Uncle Q" again!

It was unbelievably HOT! For those of you who don't live down south and are not famliar with what sweltering heat is like, let me show you...

The complex we were at was very, very nice and had a tent with water misters so that helped, along with lots and lots of water to drink. I felt so bad for the guys playing!

Grace was so good despite the heat!

Team Florida beat Virginia, and Florida is in the Final 4 tonight.

I did not get any pictures of Grace and Q!! Hopefully it won't be long before we see him again.

Quentin

Just a quick update on my brother, Quentin. He did not make the USA team last month, but he wasn't too heartbroken because that meant he got to be part of the Southeast Dixie World Series which is going on right now. We got to see him this weekend in Dothan (I'll post those pictures tonight!). His team, Florida, is headed into the Final Four tonight and he has done particularly well. It was so much fun to listen to the game online last night. The announcers were crazy about him! Here he is posing with some "fans" after the game against Mississippi last night.

USA Baseball

Many of you know about my brother. He is 13 years old and plays baseball.

What you don't know is that he is one of 40 baseball players headed to Durham, North Carolina next week for the 14 and under National Trials. 18 players will be selected to be a part of the 2010 USA Baseball 14U National Team which will compete in the Pan American Championship in Managua, Nicaragua at the end of this month. I can't tell you how proud I am for my brother for his athletic abilitiies. However, what I am most proud of him for is what a remarkable young man he is. I know I'm totally biased, but honestly he is so mature, kind and compassionate and it is truly a blessing to be his sister. I love you, Q!! Good luck!!!
